Panama - Bistec Picado

Our second recipe from Panama was bistec picado. It is thin, marinated strips of steak, fried with onions and peppers. Remember the theme we determined about Panama...? Simple is best.

This recipe had common, simple ingredients and easy steps to follow for preparation. The recipe I used is from a cooking show on YouTube. The host speaks Spanish, so get your subtitles ready if you need to! Honestly, there really isn’t much to it. In fact, there's not a whole lot that I can even write about this meal. Short and sweet.

I served the bistec picado with papas fritas (French fries), tomatoes, and ketchup, just like in the video. But note the mayonnaise with the ketchup? Younes can’t eat fries without it, and I have to admit he’s converted me - it’s delicious. Also, the steak was very good. I think Younes loved this meal because he's a meat and potatoes kind of guy. Specifically, steak and fries. I loved it because it was easy but still tasty and satisfying.
